shawn and i just had our four year anniversary and i've been thinking about how blessed i am to have him as my husband. since we've moved to vegas i've thought a lot about the crazy world we live in and how sad it can be sometimes. amongst all of that, the prevailing feeling is one of gratitude for shawn. what a blessing it is to feel comfortable and wanted in a relationship, not to have to worry and wonder when it's going to end. i'm so grateful that we both want the same thing, to be with our families and each other forever, and we're willing to work for it. i'm grateful and endlessly touched by what an amazing father he is, and am so acutely aware and thankful for how my boys will be blessed by that.
i love you so much, babe. happy anniversary.

the coke factory where we had root beer floats...what?
this is jack's soccer uniform that uncle brad brought back from suriname. he's pretty proud of it...slept in it, wore it the next day, asked to wear it the next day but it was "dirty".
sara and the twins came to stay with us while my parents and julie went to pick up brad from his mission. we had a great time, tried to squeeze in lots of fun stuff. but the best part was when brad flew into the vegas airport and stayed the night before driving back home. did i get a picture of him before he left, you ask? no. why would i do a silly thing like that?

sharks!
shawn had a saturday off from studying so we went to mandalay bay's shark reef. it was amazing!! i will say this about the casinos, they do not do cheap, everything is so well done. this shark reef had so many different kinds of fish...huge fish, fish i have never seen before. twice through the exhibit you walk through glass tunnels and the fish and sharks swim around you. so cool. jack loved it, but i think i was more excited, it was so cool. shawn forgot to turn sam around for the above picture, so you can really see his bald spot.
in the tunnel, a shark right above our heads.
jack wouldn't touch it, but insisted that i do.
a komodo dragon, he was a big dude.
