sam-boy

sam's here!! sorry if you didn't get the mass text announcement, but he's here. he came last tues. (it's already been a week, crazy) at 4:14 pm. he weighed 7 lbs 2 oz, and was 19 in long. lots of dark hair. where are the pictures, you ask? well, i was smart enough not to pack the camera and send it to vegas with the rest of our stuff, but not smart enough to keep the battery charger. yes, the camera actually died before sam was even born. awesome. so pictures will be forthcoming.

i was mostly nervous about how jack would react but he LOVES sam. he calls him sam-boy, so cute. loves to love on him, hold him, kisses, hugs, etc. has to say good morning and goodnight every day to him. love it.

i feel incredibly blessed. two healthy, happy boys. i've had a super quick and easy recovery. sleeping isn't quite the nightmare it was with jack, so far sam's been pretty good. of course, now that i've said that it will change. anyway, it's been a huge testimony to me that the Lord knows what we need and answers our prayers.

love to all!

just an update

so as we head into the craziest couple months of my life, i just wanted to update before it all happens. shawn and i went down to henderson a couple of weeks ago and found a beautiful house to rent. it was such a relief! 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bath, only 4 yrs. old. it's gorgeous, we love it! and it was funny because after we found it, all my fears and nerves disappeared. we feel very blessed to have found it, felt guided by our sweet Father. it was a great experience. so anyway, that's done. wish i had pictures to post but deleted them (accidently) from my email, oops. we're slowly packing boxes here and there and have stacks all around the apartment.

then, about a week ago, we found a van for a killer deal and bought it! crazy! i feel very weird driving it, like i'm not old enough, like i'm going to return it tomorrow to my mom, and like i've lost all my coolness. the space is awesome though and jack loves it. maybe, if i get around to it, i'll post a picture. probably not.

house...check
van...check
moving...june 19
baby...somebody shoot me now. he's almost here. he's dropped, i can barely walk, and my legs are KILLING me. i'm being induced on the 23rd so i have 3 weeks. in some ways, you might as well tell me i have another year, that's how far away it feels. but i feel extremely blessed that we're both healthy and the pregnancy has gone perfectly. soon it'll be me and a house full of boys. it's what i've always wanted.

i'll try to post pictures as all of this happens. it's gonna be a crazy ride, but i'm excited!

snuggle bugs

jack's favorite thing is to cuddle with shawn when he wakes up from his naps and on saturday/sunday mornings. he crawls into bed and they love on each other. jack smiles and smiles. two peas in a pod, they are.

ice-a-cone

so jack really wasn't a fan of ice cream (what the heck?) until we introduced the cone. this is his first one ever. he calls them "ice-a-cones".

anybody need a car?

alas, it is time to let her go. here's the chance of a lifetime, folks. she is a sexy beast, for sure. she's a '91 honda accord, so it's a little old but it's a tight ride (and i'm not just saying that). we've had her since last sept. and have put brand new tires on it, just put in a new alternator, and she's had regular oil and belt changes. yes, she is white with a red hood. get over it. perfect beater car for a teenager, or to get to school/work and back. actually rides really well on the freeway too. selling her for $1700 OBO. call now!!!! also, if anyone knows of good van (preferably a honda) for sale, could you call me?

doesn't get any better than this

so now that i'm done with school and work/internship, i find myself a true full-time mom. i find that the most challenging part is thinking of things to do that will keep us both entertained. jack is not a play by himself kind of guy, and i don't do well without things to keep me busy. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?!?! today i had a brilliant idea. we went to thanksgiving point's animal farm. we've been before, but jack was so into the animals this time. it was tons of fun. he got to ride the miniature horses and the whole time yelled "horsey, horsey!" he absolutely fell in love with the donkey, and we spent i bet about an hour wooing it with kernels of corn.

graduation...can you believe it?

WE GRADUATED! however, neither of us were interested in walking, so we skipped that part. my mom put together a big dinner for both of our families, so thanks for that, mam! my grandma made sure we were sufficiently supplied with BYU clothing, including jack. then it was picture time. i couldn't bring myself to post any of those pics because i looked like a fat tub (not that the one here is any better).

shawn's really excited.
